Safe Average is built around one promise: we never store your GPS track. The route you drive is yours.

The short version

Your location is used on your device, in the moment, to measure distance and speed. The path you took is never saved and never uploaded. We keep your account and your drive summaries so you can see them across devices. We show no ads, we use no tracking SDKs, and we do not sell your data.

Information we collect

Account. When you create an account we store your email address and an optional profile you can fill in (name, phone). Sign-in is handled through Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple.

Drive summaries. When you finish a drive we store its summary: distance, average speed, maximum speed, score, corridor counts and limits, breaks, and any fuel and cost figures you enter. These are tied to your account so they appear on every device you sign in to. The summary contains no coordinates.

Purchases. If you buy Safe Average Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple or Google and validated through RevenueCat. We receive your purchase status, not your payment details.

Support messages. If you write to us from the Contact screen, we store your message, the category you chose, and your name and email so we can reply inside the app. This conversation is visible only to you and to us.

Usage counters. To prevent abuse of the mapping services behind the trip planner, we store a monthly count of how many routes and address searches your account has requested. We store the counts only — never the addresses, never the coordinates.

How your location is used

While you drive. The app reads your location on your device to compute your distance, current speed and rolling average, including in the background so it keeps working while your phone is locked. This processing happens on the phone. The sequence of points that makes up your route is never written to our servers and never transmitted to us. When the drive ends, only the summary above is saved.

Speed-camera and corridor data. The locations of average-speed corridors and known fixed cameras are bundled inside the app and matched on your device. Driving through a zone sends nothing to us and nothing to anyone else.

Trip planner (Pro). When you plan a trip, the address you type and the start and end coordinates of that route are sent through our server to Google Maps Platform, which returns the matching places and the route line. We use this only to answer that request: we do not store the address, the coordinates or the resulting route on our servers, and they are not attached to your account. Google processes the request under its own terms as our service provider.

Map display. The map shown in the trip planner is rendered by the Google Maps SDK inside the app. Google may receive technical data required to serve map tiles, as described in its own privacy policy.

Service providers

We use Firebase (Google) for authentication and to store your account, drive summaries and support messages; Google Maps Platform for address search, routing and map display in the trip planner; and RevenueCat to manage and validate Pro purchases. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms. We do not use advertising or tracking SDKs, and we run no analytics that profile you.

Data retention and deletion

Your account, drive summaries and support conversation are kept until you delete them. You can delete individual drives in the app, and you can delete your entire account and all associated data — including your support conversation — at any time from the Account screen. Deletion is permanent.

Children

Safe Average is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
